Rehab Bed Expansion

St. Joseph’s Health Centre is expanding to meet the needs of our community. In the Spring of 2022, we received approval from the province to build a $20 million expansion that will include 36 rehabilitation beds for older adults in its first phase. The second phase will include another 36 beds, for a total of 72. The modern and accessible facility, which will be located on Lasalle Boulevard, will replace the temporary operations at the Clarion Hotel, where there are 60 patients receiving rehabilitative care.

This redevelopment is urgently needed and fundamental to growing health care needs in Sudbury. Once built, it will offer older adults the opportunity to receive the care they need in their own community.

While the province will cover 90% of the cost of the first phase, we need to raise $2.5 million locally to cover the remaining costs. That’s why we’ve launched our Rehab Bed Expansion Fund.
