“Caring… beyond the moment.”
Villa St. Gabriel Villa is a beautiful 128-bed long-term care facility nestled in the community of Chelmsford, in the City of Greater Sudbury.
Designed to fit into the natural topography of the Chelmsford landscape, Villa St. Gabriel Villa has spacious living areas and beautiful dining areas with large windows for outstanding views. Its indoor and outdoor sacred spaces include a chapel, and beautiful healing gardens. The Town Square at the heart of Villa St. Gabriel Villa features a hair salon, and comfortable sitting areas for visiting and gatherings.
Villa St. Gabriel Villa continues the legacy of Excellence in Aging and Wellness that was started in 2003 by St. Joseph’s Health Centre. In response to the MoHLTC 2007 Long-Term Bed Allocation RFP, SJHC received approval to build a 128-bed LT home in Chelmsford. The SJHC Board of Directors was committed to building this facility which responded to the aging population and long-standing underserviced needs of this predominantly rural francophone community.
Villa St. Gabriel Villa of Sudbury was provincially incorporated and received its letters patent as a non-profit corporation on January 22, 2010. The objective of Villa St. Gabriel Villa was to establish, equip, staff, maintain, and operate a Long Term Care Facility to address the need in the Chelmsford community, which it has successfully done since March 2011. To reflect the unique characteristics of this community, Villa St. Gabriel Villa applied for and received French language designation in December 2013.
Guided by our core values of service, integrity, dignity and excellence, our approach to holistic care respects the unique needs and fosters the spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being of our residents, staff and volunteers. These values are reflected in the manner in which our staff and volunteers care for our residents.
Villa St. Gabriel Villa contributes to an expanded continuum of care for the Sudbury area, particularly in Chelmsford, and will nurture the body, mind and spirit of all residents at various stages of their life journey. Based on their needs, residents will receive varying degrees of care, assistance and services aimed at maximizing their quality of life. Our philosophy of care respects the individual needs of the resident, while encouraging independence in activities of daily living.
