About Us

statueSt. Joseph’s Health Centre (SJHC), formerly the Sudbury General Hospital (SGH) has been serving the health care needs of the Sudbury community for over 65 years. We are proud to be a Catholic healthcare organization but we welcome individuals from any and all faith groups and backgrounds. Our mission is to Continue the Healing Mission of Jesus and respond to the needs of the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. Our mission provides the guidance to ensure our residents, patients, and staff are treated with caring and compassion, and in keeping with our core values of Dignity, Excellence, Service and Integrity.

St. Joseph’s Health Centre oversees the operation of two 128-bed long-term care homes: St. Joseph’s Villa on South Bay Road in Sudbury, and Villa St. Gabriel’s Villa in Chelmsford. St. Joseph’s Health Centre also operates both sites of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre: 64 rehabilitative care beds on South Bay Road, and an additional 60 hospital beds at the Clarion site on Elm Street in Sudbury.

St. Joseph’s Health Centre of Sudbury is the corporate office to three individually incorporated health care delivery facilities in the City of Greater Sudbury:

All facilities are accredited by an independent accreditor. This indicates that each facility meets high quality standards for healthcare programs and governance.

As a Catholic organization, we faithfully continue the healing Mission of Jesus, and respond to the needs of the whole person – body, mind, and spirit.

En tant qu’organisme catholique, nous poursuivons dans la foi la mission de guérison de Jésus et répondons aux besoins de toute la personne – corps, âme et esprit.
