The St. Joseph’s Villa’s Caring Beyond Capital Campaign is pleased to announce that its fundraising campaign received a substantial donation today from Mike & Rosemary DiBrina and their family in the amount of $100,000.

Mike DiBrina, who was born and raised in Sudbury, is a strong believer in reinvesting in the community. “His passion for his community is truly commendable and for this we are truly grateful” said Jo-Anne Palkovits, CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Centre. The generous donation brings the total dollars raised to $3.2 million toward its goal of $4.2 million.

The funds raised through the Caring Beyond Capital Campaign are being placed toward the upgrade and rejuvenation of St. Joseph’s Villa of Sudbury. This includes a new roof, upgrading of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, windows, beds and mattresses, kitchen and bathroom equipment, chairs and blanket warmers among many other essential items. St. Joseph’s Villa is celebrating 18 years of compassionate and caring service to our long-term residents and their families.

About St. Joseph’s Villa
St. Joseph’s Villa is a long-term care home accommodating 128 residents in Sudbury. Build on 28.4 acres of beautifully wooded property at Laurentian University near the site of the new Northern Ontario School of Medicine, it is situated on South Bay Road, with a beautiful view of Lake Ramsey and the surrounding wilderness.

St. Joseph’s Villa of Sudbury Inc. (SJV) was provincially incorporated and received its letter of patent as a non=profit corporation on September 13, 2002. The objective of St. Joseph’s Villa is to establish, equip, staff, maintain and operate a Long- Term Care Facility of which it has done since its opening on December 1, 2003.
