Kari Gervais

The St. Joseph’s Health Centre of Sudbury Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kari Gervais to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 31, 2022.

Ms. Gervais was selected following an extensive national search conducted by Mirams Becker, a healthcare executive search firm.  Ms. Gervais is an accomplished executive who for the past 14 years held the position of Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer for St. Joseph’s Health Centre and Site Administrator of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre.

Daniel Sirois, Chair of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Board of Directors said, “Ms. Gervais has been an integral part of the St. Joseph’s Health Centre senior management team. The Board is confident that Ms. Gervais has the right leadership qualities to lead the organization through a time of growth while building on the legacy and achievements of St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Ms. Gervais’s extensive clinical background combined with her value-based leadership style makes her a natural fit for the organization.  I wish to extend my congratulations to Ms. Gervais on her appointment as President and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Centre of Sudbury and look forward to working with her to continue to provide quality care to the residents and patients.”

Gervais holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with a sub-specialty in Gerontology from Laurentian University,  a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Athabasca University, an Administrator’s Leadership Certificate from the Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors and is a member in good standing with the Canadian College of Health Leaders, the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.


Background:
St. Joseph’s Health Centre is not for profit organization which oversees the operation St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, a 64-bed complex continuing care hospital located on South Bay Road and a 32-bed hospital at the Clarion Hotel site located downtown Sudbury.  St. Joseph’s Health Centre also oversees the operation of St. Joseph’s Villa and Villa St. Gabriel Villa, two 128-bed long-term care homes, located on South Bay Road in Sudbury and Reginal Road 15 in Chelmsford, respectively.
