Infection Control

Eliminating infections, many of which are preventable is a significant way to improve care. When facilities track infections they can identify problems and track progress towards stopping infections and improving care. St. Joseph’s Villa is committed to the delivery of high quality care by following Best Practice Guidelines for Infection Prevention and Control.

Hand Hygiene

Proper hand washing is the most effective way of preventing the spread of communicable disease and can significantly reduce the spread of infectious disease. The Just Clean Your Hands campaign is a multi-faceted hand hygiene program developed by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. The aim is to promote and to encourage proper hand hygiene among health care providers and patients. In doing so, higher hand hygiene compliance will result in the reduction of facility-acquired infections.
