St. Joseph’s Health Centre (SJHC), formerly the Sudbury General Hospital (SGH) has been serving the health care needs of the Sudbury community for over 65 years.
St. Joseph’s Health Centre oversees the operation of the Village of Care Campus located on South Bay Road, which includes St. Joseph’s Villa, a 128-bed long-term care home and room with potential growth. In addition, St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, a 64-bed complex continuing care hospital, is co-located on this site. St. Joseph’s Health Centre also operates Villa St. Gabriel Villa, a 128-bed long-term care home located in Chelmsford, Ontario.
The administrative team supports all three facilities and manages clinical, operational, financial, and planning services. We are a Catholic organization guided by our core values of Dignity, Excellence, Service and Integrity with a focus on a culture of caring. From its beginning, SJHC has offered chaplaincy and ethics services in its own facilities and for many North Eastern Ontario healthcare institutions.
St. Joseph’s Health Centre of Sudbury is the corporate office to three individually incorporated health care delivery facilities in the City of Greater Sudbury:
All facilities are accredited by an independent accreditor. This indicates that each facility meets high quality standards for healthcare programs and governance.
