Donation Programs

Donor recognition is the practice of providing recognition to donors for their gifts through formal and informal, personal and public expressions of appreciation.

St. Joseph’s Foundation recognizes the importance of voluntary contributions to any of the facilities of St. Joseph’s Villa, St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre or Villa St. Gabriel Villa. Donors will receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition for their gifts.

Who is to be honoured

All individuals, corporations, service clubs, and community organizations who make monetary gifts and/or gift in kind donations to St. Joseph’s Foundation.

Guidelines for donations

Angel WallA recognition system acknowledges all gifts to the St. Joseph’s Foundation.  The recognition system relies on a fundraising spreadsheet database that tracks cumulative giving to each of the three organizations.  Current levels of recognition per organization are based upon the aggregate of a donor’s gifts since July 2003 to the specific organization.

To recognize our donors, benefactors and in memoriam donations, Angels Walls are located at each of our three sites.  The categories are as follows:

  • HALO – Donations of $50,000 +
  • PLATINUM – Donations of $10,000 +
  • GOLD – Donations of $5,000 +
  • BRONZE – Donations of $2,500 +
  • COPPER – Donations of $1,000 +

Alternatively, a donation can be made through the planting of a tree in their honour on the organizations property or in one of the Healing Gardens or the purchase of a garden bench for one of the Healing Gardens.  The donation amounts for these items are as follows:

  •  TREE – Donation of $2,000
  • GARDEN BENCH – Donation of $500

The names of persons, companies, organizations or agencies donating will be considered confidential until such time as they are published according to this policy.

The donor may request anonymity from public display of his/her name.

The specific amount of a donation and terms of payment will be considered confidential at all times.

Access to this information will be limited to the Foundation members and designated corporate and administrative staff of St. Joseph’s Health Centre.

Donors will be advised of the recognition category to which their level of giving places them.    The Foundation reserves the right to determine how the funds will be used at the specific organization that they were donated to based on the request lists provided by each organization on an annual basis.
