Spiritual / Religious Care

The Spiritual and Religious Care department of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre recognizes the need for emotional, transitional, and at times grief support. In order to assist our patients, we offer one on one pastoral visits (for both social and spiritual support), Communion every Thursday and three special services throughout the year at Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving.

We also offer the Guardian Angel program for patients who become palliative during their stay at SJCCC. This program is a unique program designed to assist the patient and their families during the end stages of palliation.

Zero Tolerance

St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre (SJCCC) is committed to our core values of Dignity, Excellence, Service and Integrity, and to promoting a zero tolerance of abuse or neglect of its patients.  In its commitment to zero tolerance of abuse or neglect, SJCCC strives to provide a safe, healthy and supportive environment for all.

Patients will be free from abuse by staff, volunteers, visitors and other patients.  Each patient has the right to complain and be assured of a full, equitable investigation in the event of patient abuse.

Any employee accused of patient abuse has the right to a thorough and fair investigation. Any verified allegations of abuse will result in discipline, up to and including termination.

Employees aware of incidents of abuse must report it immediately.

Feedback, Compliments, Complaints

We Care What You Think brochures are located in the lobby at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre. These forms give you the opportunity to recognize someone for great work, or to offer a suggestion for improvement. These forms can be left in the suggestion box in the lobby. Feedback is brought to the most appropriate manager to review and follow up.
