Thursday, March 11 marks the one-year anniversary since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic.
Since that time we have sadly lost many people to this virus including a beloved resident at St. Joseph’s Villa.
Today I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you are doing to keep our residents, patients and yourselves safe. Thank your for your dedication, for your resilience and for your caring. We continue to all be in this together. We will get through this together.
Today, the RNAO and 20 other health organizations across Ontario are honouring those lost to the virus and reflecting on hope for the future. People are asked to light a candle at 7pm on Thursday evening (tonight) and share on social media with the hashtag #TogetherWeCanDoIt and #Candle4COVID.
