It’s another exciting day for the St. Joseph’s Health Centre family. The first resident at Villa St. Gabriel Villa (VSGV) in Chelmsford received his first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Steven Harrison has been a resident at VSGV since its opening in 2011. When asked by Jo-Anne Palkovits, Administrator how it felt to be the first resident to get the vaccine, Mr. Harrison replied “it felt really good!”

This morning 110 residents at Villa St. Gabriel Villa took their first steps in protecting themselves from COVID-19. All residents at VSGV who consented received their vaccine.

“Today has been a long time coming and gives us some hope for the future. I am truly grateful to all of our “Rock Star” staff members who have been working full out during the pandemic” stated Jo-Anne Palkovits, Administrator. “Thank you to Public Health Sudbury and District for delivering and assisting our staff administer the vaccines. Thank you to the Federal and Provincial governments for working diligently in sourcing out the vaccine to ensure that our frail elderly are the first to be inoculated”.

Last week, 54 residents at St. Joseph’s Villa in Sudbury received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Today, the remaining 58 residents also received their vaccines.
